Dear Contractors,

The Assisted School Travel Contractors Association is holding its next meeting at the St George Leagues Club this Saturday 16th June 2012 at 1.30pm in the Premiers Lounge.

We are inviting all Operators in the area to attend this meeting to learn what this association represents, the benefits to its members and its dealings with our nominated representative Garry Browne R/Director Shared Services. Mr Browne, who oversees the Wollongong unit, has assured us he remains objective in his effort to help resolve our problems and is already addressing a number of them.

Some of the most requested problems from Operators are:

  • Payments now based on student numbers rather than vehicle category.
  • Underpayment of Invoiced Claim Forms with no explanation.
  • The Need for a detailed RCTI to include the Dept. Calculation Sheet.
  •  A map of the Department’s acceptable run route.
  • The Dept. requirement for an Engineer’s Certificates at 3 year intervals.
  • The requirement for license display.
  • Clarification and consistency on Temporary Absences/Unloaded Vehicle.
  • Consistency and uniform in Contractor Payments.
  • The Department’s rigid Kilometre mapping.
  • The 3 month expiry of Drivers and TSO’s.
  • Driver approval delays causing loss of runs.
  • Requesting EOI’s when the ESP list is not exhausted.
  • Contractors not being informed of operational changes.
  • The need for courteous, prompt and regular communication.

For more information about the association or to request a membership application please email to asc@assistedtravel.info or phone 0498 044 660.

Sincerely

Rhonda Hinds (Secretary)

Please advise if you would like to receive updates on our advances or if you would like to be removed from our mailing list.

Dear Principle Special Needs Unit,

We are requesting your help with the distribution of the below information to ASTP Operators. It would be appreciated if this could be given to your drivers as they collect their signed claim forms this Thursday to hand to their employers. We thank you kindly for your support.

Sincerely

Rhonda Hinds

Dear ASTP Contractors,

The Assisted School Travel Contractors Association, incorporated on the 5th April 2012, will be holding its next meeting at the St George Leagues Club Saturday 16th June at 1.30 pm. Preceding this, there will be an informal “meet and greet” at 1.30 pm THIS SATURDAY (2nd June) also at St George Leagues Club for operators who would like to find out more about the association and the current issues we have begun addressing with Garry Browne R/Director Shared Services.

The association now has representatives covering most areas of NSW allowing all Contractors the ability to participate in pre meeting discussions and decisions, with the constitution allowing conferencing via electronic means. For details of your local representative or more information about the association, contact can be made by email to asc@assistedtravel.info or phone 0498 044 660.

Yours Sincerely

Rhonda Hinds
